Make submarine out of a bottle

Building a submarine out of a water bottle is one such experiment that often fascinates the young mind and gathers curiosity. Building a submarine is an intriguing invention which uses a complex system of air pockets to float the bottle. But while you may have read a lot about how a submarine works, the best way to satisfy your curiosity is to build one. You need not be a professional engineer to build your own submarine. All you need is a bottle out of which you can easily make a submarine out of a bottle.

It is often said that plastic bottles are the easiest to make a submarine out of, so here goes.
You will need a plastic soda bottle of about 1-2 liters, a plastic or even a rubber tube, modeling clay and a container that can house your submarine. Now you need to assemble your submarine as you go about the building process and next stage.

Make a hole through the cap in the bottle, after that you have to run a plastic tube through this hole inside the bottle. You have to make sure that you leave enough tube on the outside of the bottle. This is primarily because o that when the bottle is submerged in the water, there is enough length of the tube to hold onto. In the next step use the modeling clay to seal off the space around the tube on the cap itself.

Now, make a hole at the bottom of the plastic bottle, be careful that the hole is small enough so that it can be covered even with your finger. In the next step, cover the hole that you just made and fill the plastic bottle completely with water. Now once this is done, you need to put one part of the tube inside the bottle and screw on the cap. While you do this remember that you can’t move away your finger away from the hole at the bottom of the bottle.

Once you have achieved this you know your submarine is done and you have been successful in making you water bottle submarine!
